The problem
Flat 2048 clones feel weightless. Casual mobile players want something they can feel: a throw that lands, a merge that pops, and a board they can read in half a second.
Our approach
We built the game around real rigid-body physics in Unity, then spent most of our time tuning it: cube mass, bounce and impulse until every throw felt right, plus a high-contrast palette so numbers read instantly on small screens.
What we built
One-finger aim-and-throw controls with a trajectory preview, allocation-free collision and merge logic, combo multipliers for chain reactions, and rewarded progression that does not get in the way of play.
Results
Holds 60 FPS on low and mid-range phones, with no garbage-collection stutter even during long multi-cube chain reactions.
- Physics-driven merge system built in Unity with zero runtime garbage allocation
- Optimized 3D mobile performance and collision-based combo chain detection
- Modular level and difficulty scaling architecture for rapid tuning
