The problem
Most casual puzzle games lean on timers, pressure and busy controls. The brief was the opposite: a relaxing brain teaser anyone can learn in a few seconds, that still rewards real planning, keeps feeling fresh over dozens of levels, and plays smoothly on the budget Android phones much of this audience owns, with or without a connection.
Our approach
We built the whole game around a single tap. Each level is a grid of geckos whose paths overlap; tapping one sends it along its path, and the puzzle is finding the order that gets every gecko out without a collision. The rules never change, so the levels do the teaching: early stages introduce one idea at a time, later ones layer them into dense tangles. Three hearts per level forgive a wrong move without adding time pressure, and a hint button keeps players moving when they are stuck.
What we built
A portrait, one-handed Unity game with 50+ carefully designed levels, collision-aware movement, three lives per level, hints and instant restarts. Bright, high-contrast art and a cast of animated geckos keep even the busiest boards readable on a small screen, and the whole game works offline. Rendering, animation and memory were optimised so it stays smooth on entry-level devices.
